Po cca 3 týdnech od vydání Linux Mintu 18.3 s kódovým jménem Sylvia a prostředími MATE a Cinnamon byla oznámena také vydání s prostředími KDE a Xfce. Podrobnosti v poznámkách k vydání (KDE, Xfce) a v přehledech novinek s náhledy (KDE, Xfce). Linux Mint 18.3 je podporován do roku 2021.

Christian Kellner představil na svém blogu projekt Bolt řešící bezpečnost rozhraní Thunderbolt 3 na Linuxu. Pomocí příkazu boltctl nebo rozšíření GNOME Shellu lze komunikovat s démonem boltd a například zakázat neznámá zařízení a předejít tak útokům typu Thunderstrike nebo DMA.

    Postup zprovoznění pod Linuxem

    Podpora je od kernelu 2.6.28, testoval jsem v Gentoo s sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.28, s sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.27-r7 jeste nefungovala zvukovka.

     

    Funguje bez problemu, vcetne suspend to RAM. Dokonce funguje pres Fn+Fi on/off WiFi+BT, on/off vetraku, nastaveni jasu displeje, a to dokonce bez daemona fnfxd, otazka je, jak je to resene.

    Ubuntu 9.04 - Funguje vše hned po instalaci včetně funkčních kláves, scrollu u touchpadu, webkamery.... Podsvícení lcd lze řídit i pomocí appletu "jas"

     

    Poznámka

    Mechanicky reseny na svou cenu dost dobre. K otevreni jsou potreba obe ruce. Klavesnice vzhledem k rozmerum omezena, viz parametry.

    Displej lze vyklápět o 180 stupňů.

    Lze bootovat z USB zařízení (flashdisk, usb fdd, usb hdd, usb cdrom) i sítě - krom usb fdd vše vyzkoušeno.

    + předimenzovaný napájecí adaptér jaký se dodává pro standardní notebooky.

    Po vypnutí ventilátoru pomocí kombinace funkčních kláves dojde k poklesu výkonu - toto je řešeno již na úrovni hardwaru - operační systém na to nemá vliv.

    Bluetooth se zapíná zarás s wifi - možná zbytečně zvyšuje spotřebu.
