Má nějakých cca 220 MB vnitřní paměti a podporuje SD (SDHC viz poznámka) a Memory Stick Pro Duo paměťové karty. Z pohledu Linuxu funguje jako USB Mass Storage zařízení. Lze tedy připojit (mount) jako jiná UMS zařízení.

Je to skvělá věc pro lidi, kteří rádi čtou a chtějí mít všechny knížky neustále při sobě. Zobrazovací jednotka je postavená na elektronickém inkoustu viz. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-ink a nemá v sobě podsvícení. V ČR to Sony neprodává ale zkuste např. britský či americký Amazon. Já jsem si to objednal z Ameriky.

Verze kterou mám má firmware 1.1.00.18040 díky, které zařízení podporuje některé SDHC karty. Já mám vyzkoušenou 4GB Panasonic z foťáku. Čtečka má svůj systém katalogu knížek, který neumožňuje listování v adresářích a při velkém množství dokumentů na paměťové kartě jeho budování dlouho trvá. Myslím se, že je lepší mít více menších paměťových karet a ty střídat.

Pokud chcete rozchodit Češtinu použijte www.prscustomizer.com . U dokumentů (txt) pak použijte UTF-8 kódovaní. Kromě jiného čtečka podporuje i PDF, ale tady je problém s čitelností, jelikož většina PDF dokumentů je formátovaná pro A4, takže písmenka z tohoto typu dokumentu se ukazují jako malé blechy při zachování stávajícího rozložení. Je možné zvětšený "zoom", ale to zase rozhodí formátování. Jiná cesta u PDF je prohlížet je na "ležato", ale to se zase musí více stránkovat.
