Postup zprovoznění pod Linuxem

 
Ahoj všem,
tak jsem se konečně dostal k přispění malou troškou do mlýna :)
Pořídil jsem si notebook UMAX VisionBook TN121R Tablet, UNT21.CAAAAA
tento notebook lze dohledat také jako výrobek firmy Clevo TN121R (www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/prodinfo.asp)

V dalším textu se chci podělit se zkušenostmi s tímto HW, Fedorou 10 a nastavením jednotlivých periferií.

Pomocí wizarda jsem si na tento notebook nainstaloval Fedoru 10. Instalace je intuitivní, bezproblémová. Hned po instalaci jsem byl překvapen,
že prakticky všechno funguje a to bez dlouhého nastavování.

Fungují funkční klávesy Fn+XXX včetně OSD (hlasitost, jas, vypínání touchpedu, vypínání LCD, zapínání/vypínání wifi, ...)
Ač to není nikde patrné, Fn+F12 zapíná/vypíná Bluetooth.
Klávesy Home, End, PgDn a PgUp jsou umístěny na šipkách a jsou dostupné přes Fn... To asi vymyslel někdo hlavou... pro označení řádku se musí mačkat trojhmat Shift+Fn+šipka.

TouchPad funguje, ale má jen dvě tlačítka. Jsem zvyklý z mého mrtvého ThinkPadu R51 na tři, ale jde o zvyk.

Čtečku paměťových karet si fedora našla sama. Zkoušel jsem vložit kartu a něco z ní kopírovat do počítače. Vše bylo OK.

K Bluetoothu jsem zkoušel připojit telefon. Vše na kliknutí, taky OK.

Optickou mechaniku jsem použil na vypálení LiveCD Fedory.

Integrovaná web kamera se objeví jako zařízení "/dev/video0". Zkoušel jsem "mplayer tv:// -tv device=/dev/video0" a jééé, opravdu se vidím :)

Network Manager automaticky našel Wifi i "drátovou" síťovku. Připojím se bez problémů.

Pomocí nabídky v prostředí GNOME "Rozlišení obrazovky" lze pohodlně nastavit LCD i externí monitor.

Čtečka otisku prstu funguje bez problému. Hlásí se jako 'Fingerprint Sensor'; 'TouchStrip' ; 147e_2016
Je potřeba nainstalovat balíčky (libfprint; pam_fprint; fprint_demo) a nastavit konfigurační soubory v /etc/pam.d/

Zařízení /dev/bus/usb/004/002 (náš snímač viz. výpis) může používat jen root a tak pro další uživatele si nastavte přístupová práva
chmod -R a+w /dev/bus/usb/


Rozhraní ExpressCard jsem nezkoušel (nemám žádnou kartičku) ale v systému je vidět. Jestli se nepletu, je to toto:

Nepředpokládám problémy.

FireWire jsem nezkoušel, ale systém ho vidí jako "08:09.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host Controller (rev c0)"

Zvuk funguje, jen interní reproduktory jsou ovládány šavlí "PCM" a externí sluchátkový výstup je ovládán šavlí "Surround". Interní reproduktory jsou příšerný chrastítka...

TouchScreen se mi po delším laborování taky podařilo rozchodit. Jedná se o "evtouch IDEACO IDC 6680 touchscreen"
Původně jsem vytvářel a upravoval xorg.conf (Fedora 10 ho po nainstalování nemá), ale výsledný stav je, že jsem xorg.conf smazal a používám "default" nastavení.
Aby HAL tento touchscreen použil, je nutné do adresáře "/etc/hal/policy/" nahrát soubor "10-ideaco.fdi" (/etc/hal/policy/10-ideaco.fdi). Ten jsem našel tady
V GIMPu jsem si v nastavení vstupních zařízení vybral "EVTouch TouchScreen" a bavil jsem se malováním.
Hledáte-li Gnome On-Screen Keyboard, najdete program gok.

Do notebooku jsem si přidal druhý 2GB paměťový modul a se 4GB paměti vše chodí moc pěkně.
Fedora si mění rychlost dvoujádrového procesoru automaticky a přitom reguluje větrák. Vetrák je poměrně hlučný :(
Program "sensors-detect" najde jen dvě teploty pro procesor (pro každé jádro). ThinkPad co mi zdechnul, byl snímačema vybaven daleko lépe. Chybí zde rychlost větráku, teplota na grafice,...
Je škoda, že TN121R nemá akcelerometrický snímač.
 
 

Poznámka

Ještě jsem neměl čas na rozchození dvou tlačítek na displeji pod snímačem otisku prstu.

Jinak myslím, že se mi na tomto notebooku podařilo zprovoznit vše.

Mám baterii 2400 mAh a tak mi notebook vydrží cca 1,5hod. což není moc. Výrobce umí dodat baterku 4700mAh

TN121R se prodává okolo 20 000,- Kč (5.12.2008). Potěšilo mě, že se notebook prodává ve verzi bez operačního softwaru a tak jsem nevyhazoval peníze.

Jsem s notebookem celkově spokojený.
