Podpora v jádře, netřeba nic nastavovat.

Disk trpí stejně jako další disky od WD nadměrným parkováním hlaviček (popsáno třeba zde). Nastavení APM přes
[root@paris ~]# hdparm -B 255 /dev/sdb
je nefunkční, nejde ani jenom ztlumit, ani vypnout. Aby se disk neuparkoval k smrti (garantovaný Load Cycle Count je 300 000), je potřeba použít utilitu wdidle3.exe, samozřejmě pouze pro DOS. Obraz CD s FreeDOSem a danou utilitou je třeba tady.
