openSUSE 10.2 - dvě různá rozlišení dvou konfiguračních nástrojů

Nainstaloval jsem openSUSE 10.2 na notebook Acer Aspire 3692 NWLMi. Celá instalace proběhla naprosto bez problémů, hardwarová detekce kupodivu také (až na pár detailů). Instalační nástroj správně rozpoznal širokoúhlý (15,4") LCD displej a rozlišení 1280x800 a 24 b. a 60 Hz. Grafická karta je plně podporovaná (v Xorg i Xgl) intel 945GM (ovladač i810). To stejné pak tvrdil i SAX2 a přehled hardwaru v YASTu2. Pak ale následovalo překvapení. KInfoCenter i Ovládací centrum KDE tvrdí, že rozlišení je 1024x768! Takže dva nástroje přistupující k téžemu hardwaru tvrdí rozdílné věci! No a reálné rozlišení je to špatné (1024x768). A také z nějakého důvodu nefunguje touchpad. Zkoušel jsem různá nastavení v YASTu i úpravy konfiguráků. Nic nepomohlo. Dokonce ani 915resoltuion mi nenabídl volbu 1280x800, což nechápu. Opravdu nevím, co s tím a žádám tedy o radu zkušenější uživatele... ;-)

vypis hwinfo --gfxcard mi nesel - command not found.

nasleduje vypis xdpyinfo - aha, v casti Section u polozky Dimensions vidim rozliseni 1024x768. ale nevim, jak ho zmenit:
