mod_rewrite & mod_gzip s mime xhtml

Toto je velmi specificky problem, ale aj tak skusim ho sem napisat. Na serveri mam ako mod_rewrite tak aj mod_gzip. V .htacess prepisujem url typu index.php?strana=1 na "cool uri" galeria-strana1.html. Prepis funguje perfektne. Funguje aj gzip. Ale akonahle chcem posielat hlavicku s mime type application/xhtml zapisom v .htacess:

tak uz gzip zazracne nefunguje a stranky server posiela nekomprimovane. Jedinym riesenim ako posielat header s mime type je pomocou php - header('Content-Type: ' . 'application/xhtml+xml' . '; charset=' . $charset); Ale ja nechem linkovat ten header do kazdeho html/php suboru, raddsej by som pouzil globalne ten .htaccess zapis Riesil niekto takyto problem?
