Dotaz: 10Gbit sitovka - PCI Express 2.5GT vs 5GT

10Gbit sitovka - PCI Express 2.5GT vs 5GT

Pridal jsem do serveru kartu 2x 10Gbit Supermicro-AOC-STG-i2T

Ale ovladace intelu mi hlasi ze "Speed:2.5GT/s, Width: x8, Encoding Loss:20%", pritom lspci rika ze na slotu je mozna podpora 5GT/s. Proc se teda nedomluvi na vyssi frekvenci aby byla pozadovana rychlost pokryta ? Co presne zamenaji radky na vypisu lspci "LnkCap,LnkStat" a proc jsou tam i "LnkCap2" a "LnkStat2". Predpokladam LnkCap rika jaka jsou schopnosti PCI-e sbernice a LnkStat rika jaky je aktualni stav?

To bohuzel neresi problem s detekci a natavenim rychlost PCI-E sbernice. Ale pro jistotu jsem to i vyzkousel.

Odkaz na kartu v popisu tvrdi:
 Low-Profile, RoHS Compliant 6/6, Intel 82598EB Chipset, PB-Free 
Radic 82598EB, je dle specifikacepouze PCIe v2.0 (2.5GT/s). Ale datascheetna stejne strance pod obrazkem tvrdi ze obsahuje radic X540, ktery je skutecne PCI Express* 2.1 5.0 GT/s Lane x 8. Takze jestli to neni nejaka levarna.

v tom manuálu je, že: One (1) PCI-Express x4 slot (x8 slot using x4 signal)

tak jestli ta karta není zrovna v něm, ten druhý je One (1) PCI-Express x8 slot

jestli jsou použity oba, tak pak jeden slot zřejmě běží jen na x4 linkách a zbytek je nezapojen, někdy je tak napůl zmrzačený i druhý/třetí/čtvrtý PCI-E z x16 na x8 linek...

Tak on ovladac rika ze jede 2.5GT/s x8 takze tam asi problem neni. Podle me by ale propustnost nemela byt 2.5GT/s ale 5GT/s. Podle toho co pise lspci a jestli to dobre chapu tak PCI-e slot to umi ale z neznamyho duvodu to nepouzije. Ale jak pises muze tam bejt pri plnym osazeni dost veci zmrzacenych. Tak ted nevim jestli je chyba v desce nebo v karte pripadne jak ho donutit tech 5GT na sbernici :-)

Jinak ten popis toho cipu je asi na tech strankach blbe - urcite tam je cip X540.

Tak tohle byl orisek.
Supermicro H8QMI-2 je postavena na chipsetu nVidia MCP55 Pro, ktery odpovida nForce 590 vydane 23.5.2006.
PCI-E 2.0 specifikace byla uvedena 15.1.2007.
Uz tusis, kde je zadrhel?

Taky jsem si myslel ze to treba neumi deska (PCI-E v2) - ale zase lspci to pise ze to umi tak ja nevim cemu verit. Navic jsem se pak zacal ztracet v tom podrobnem vypisu lspci takze sem nevedel co patri ke karte a co ke sbernici na desce :-(.

Zkus se v lspci podivat po necem jako Express PCI Express Root Port.
Ja mam u Intel G31 jasne napsane v1 a to je z Q2/2007.

Kazdopadne ta sitovka by tam ject mela ne ? Ale pojede max 16Gbit a ne 20Gbit soucasne na obou portech - hlaska toho driveru vylozene nerika ze je to spatny ale akorat ze budu mit o 20% mensi rychlost.
