Bezte uz s tou politikou fakt k sipku...
Consider that the GFDL currently prohibits distribution on DRM media, as compared to the GPL which requires distribution on non-DRM media. This is a serious additional restriction.Manojovi a dalsim doporucuju zopakovat si logiku a zabyvat se misto blbosti necim uzitecnym. Uz me ty idealogicke valky vazne nebavej. Akorat otravujete uzivatele pitomostma, co nikoho z nich nezajimaj.
pokud je tam "verze x a vyšší", tak asi snad autor věděl co dělá, když to tam dával.Problem je ten, ze to tam nikdo vedome nedaval. Pouze ji nekteri smazali. A to je rozdil. Tahle nepovina klauzule u GPL je ze strany Stallmana sazka na to, ze ne kazdy si to procte do detailu a do konce. To si myslim. Bylo by zajimave zjistit, kolik GPL projektu tam tu klauzuli nechalo vedome... Kazdopadne, pokud tahle veta u GPL je, je to nesvobodna licence.
If the Program specifies a version number of this License which applies to it and "any later version", you have the option of following the terms and conditions either of that version or of any later version published by the Free Software Foundation. If the Program does not specify a version number of this License, you may choose any version ever published by the Free Software Foundation.Možnost použít konkrétní verzi není explicitně uvedena, ale je zřejmé že je možné ji použít.
Prectete si anotovanou verzi GFDL ve vyse uvedenem dokumentu...
Konkretni priklad:
Let's say that I fork a version of GCC. I think we all agree this is allowed under the GPL, and, indeed has been done in the past. I make significant changes.
Now, I need a manual for my new compiler fork. I naturally look to the GNU's GCC manual. However, there are two problems I see in particular:
1. The FSF's Front-Cover Text is:
A GNU Manual
2. The FSF's Back-Cover Text is:
You have freedom to copy and modify this GNU Manual, like GNU software. Copies published by the Free Software Foundation raise funds for GNU development.
I see this as a problem because my new manual has to include false statements on the covers. It isn't a GNU manual anymore, and the FSF certainly doesn't publish copies. Putting "A GNU Manual" on the cover would, I think, be a violation of Title 15, Sec. 1125(a). So, as a consequence, I can not distribute my manual at all.
I'm not sure I can modify GNU manuals at all with those front and back cover texts, because the moment I do, those texts are no longer true.
* G. Preserve in that license notice the full lists of Invariant Sections and required Cover Texts given in the Document's license notice. [...] * O. Preserve any Warranty Disclaimers. If the Modified Version includes new front-matter sections or appendices that qualify as Secondary Sections and contain no material copied from the Document, you may at your option designate some or all of these sections as invariant. To do this, add their titles to the list of Invariant Sections in the Modified Version's license notice. These titles must be distinct from any other section titles. You may add a section Entitled "Endorsements", provided it contains nothing but endorsements of your Modified Version by various parties--for example, statements of peer review or that the text has been approved by an organization as the authoritative definition of a standard. You may add a passage of up to five words as a Front-Cover Text, and a passage of up to 25 words as a Back-Cover Text, to the end of the list of Cover Texts in the Modified Version. Only one passage of Front-Cover Text and one of Back-Cover Text may be added by (or through arrangements made by) any one entity. If the Document already includes a cover text for the same cover, previously added by you or by arrangement made by the same entity you are acting on behalf of, you may not add another; but you may replace the old one, on explicit permission from the previous publisher that added the old one.
