Sun Microsystems opens another new team in Prague: The new group will be an extension of Sun's existing web engineering team with a specific focus on ecommerce and backend system integration and web service development.
Sun Microsystems is establishing another new engineering group in Prague. Having created other similar groups in Prague (e.g. NetBeans and other engineering teams), Sun has found that this model expands its proven ability to provide quality products and meet time to market demands.
The Web Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, integration and hosting of Sun's major external Web sites and applications. The new team in Prague would be responsible for architecting and implementing web services and other integration methods between web applications and backend services. The project is called IBIS (Integrated Business Information Solution) and is an executive high-profile priority at Sun and presents an amazing opportunity for challenging development work that will directly impact the bottom line.
Developers will be working with the Intershop Enfinity application suite and will be reshaping the way that Sun does over 2 billion annually in global web based commerce. Team members will collaborate with the Prague team (target: 6 developers) as well as engineering staff located worldwide, including Germany, the UK, California and Colorado.
We are looking predominantly for experienced software engineers to work in an international team. Candidates should have experience and knowledge of core technologies including: Java, Oracle, Web Services and Application Servers. Experience in high volume, customer facing Internet application development is desired.
