Dotaz: Vysoka spotreba IBM Thinkpad R40, Pentium M@2GHz

[MiG]

Dobrý den, mám notebook R40 s Pentiem M / Xeon. Pod WinXP je jeho výdrž přes 6 hodin (s proprietárními IBM ovladači). Na Linuxu max 2:50. Ventilátor se stále spouští, teplota CPU je na 59 stupních i při idle.

V jádře 2.6 je přitom zakompilovano ACPI a podpora Intel SpeedStep (cpufreq). Cpufreq zřejmě částečně funguje, počítač dokáže zpomalit, ale nemá to za následek žádný pokles teploty. Zkoušel jsem nastavit throttling přes ACPI, ale tentýž výsledek - pouze zpomalení. Zarážejí mne tyto tři hlášky v messages:

Pokud zkompiluji cpufreq jako moduly, pak je v /lib/modules/.../cpufreq/ modul acpi.o, který při modprobe selže a vypíše registry; myslím, že to má souvislost s hláškou #3.

Máte někdo zkušenosti, co s tím? Zdá se, že na Centrinech tento problém nemají. Jak to vypadá s ovladači od IBM? Slyšel jsem, že cosi proprietárního vyvíjejí.
