Postup zprovoznění pod Linuxem

Instalace OpenSuse 11.2 proběhla bez problémů. Po rebootu černá obrazovka nereagující na žádné klávsy. Fungoval jen krátký stisk Power tlačítka, díky kterému se notebook korektně vypnul.

Hraní se sax2 vedlo k vytvoření xorg.conf, který fungoval s driverem fbdev a rozlišením 1024x768. Při pokusu použít v xorg.conf driver intel zase konec na černé obrazovce a ve /var/log/Xorg.0.log chybová hláška:

(WW) intel(0): ESR is 0x00000011, page table error
...

Řešení: odstranit z boot parametrů výchozí volbu vga=0x317 a nahradit ji volbou i915.modeset=1. Volba vga=* či video=* nesmí být současně použita. Volba i915.modeset zapne KMS (kernel mode setting), bez kterého se mi nepodařilo vysokého rozlišení dosáhnout. Z diskuzí soudím, že totéž stejný postup lze použít i pro další distribuce, které nemají defaultně aktivováno KMS. V diskuzích jsem také zahlédl, že OpenSuSE 11.3 bude mít zřejmě KMS zapnuté defaultně.

Funguje:

• zvuk, včetně změny hlasitosti pomocí funkčních kláves
• obraz s intel driverem v 1366x768, včetně změny jasu pomocí funkčních kláves
• stav baterie v KDE4 s přepínáním profilu dle ne/zapojení do el. sítě
