Dotaz: atheros a opensuse 11.2

Ahij, mam NB s kartou atheros, nainstalovany opensuse 11.2 32bit a KDE4. Problem nastal s pripojenim k domaci wifi siti. Pripoji se, chvili bezi (s ruznou kvalitou) a pak padne. Opetovne pripojeni se nikdy nezdari. Zkousel jsem vypnout sifrovani, zkousel jsem nm-applet misto knetworkmanager, vzudy byl vysledek stejny.

co tak prolejzam ruzna fora, nabyl jsem dojmu, ze ovladace pro tuhle kartu by uz mely byt OK. Nebo se pletu a musim hledat jina reseni?

Je něco v dmesg? S gui nepomůžu, sám to zkoušim jen přes příkazovej řádek (iwconfig, iwlist, ip link apod.). Teoreticky byste moh i sledovat online provoz přes program wavemon.

Nerozumim tomu "association took too long, failing activation" ... jestli to je hláška přímo od network managera nebo od nějaké backendu?

Vsechno je to primo od Network Manageru, stejny veci to delalo i pres gnomi nm. Prave, ze jsem toho taky moc nevygoogloval. Teda krome dopruceni wicd, ndiswrapperu nebo madwifi, ale vetsinou se to vztahovalo ke starsim verzim.

Pak jsem komp vypnul, sit uz proste neprobudim.

Odebrat modul a přidat a koukat, jak na to komp reaguje, když je síť mrtvá? V kernelu bych zakompiloval debugování, kdybych to osobně musel řešit. Sám mam nějakej skript pro wpa_supplicant, občas po probuzení ze s2ram ho musim znova spustit, jako by byl potřeba nějakej timeout pro obsluhu hardwaru, případně se z nějakého stavu nedalo dostat ven, dál.

Přípdně zkuste něco jako "iwconfig wlan0 rts 250 frag 512", používam to v případě nouze a rušení okolím.

Tak jsem nastartoval notes, dal stahovat jedno avicko od sebe ze stranek a po case to lehlo. Odebral jsem modul (modprobe -r ath9k) a zase zavedl a vzapamatovalo se to. Nez to stahlo necele mega, udelal jsem to asi trikrat... To asi znamena, ze to nezvlada ten ath9k, ne?

No laicky mi to tak přijde. Máte možnost zkusit nějaké live distro, tedy jiný kernel, jinou konfiguraci, zda bude taky tak padat?

Jak koukam, v kernelu je modul ath9k k "Atheros 802.11n wireless cards support". Třeba intel 3945 v kernelu debug podporuje, vaše ath9k nee.

Navíc: google mi něco našel na unstable ath9k linux.

Jo, na ty jsem narazil taky, ale nejak jsem mel za to, ze se to vztahuje jen na Ubuntu. Vyzkousim madwifi, s vlastnim jadrem nemam vubec zkusenosti. Ale nevim kdy, na baterce ma tretinu a ted jsem zjistil, ze kabelem napajeni se skvele vyhazuji pojistky. Bomba, je tejden po zakoupeni

Vytahuju tohle vlakno zpet, protoze jsem se dostal k tomu zprovozneni. Problem je ovsem v tom, ze pokud vyhodim modul ath9k a zavedu ath_pci, karta umre. Zarizeni proste pro pocitac neexistuje, zhasne dioda signalizujici funkcnost a konec. Stejne vysledky jsem dostal, kdyz jsem zkusil instalovat ovladac z WXP pres ndiswrapper. Ovladac je nainstalovany, ale tim to konci, zadne zarizeni wifi jakoby v notebooku neexistovalo.

Delam nekde chybu pri instalace madwifi i pres ndiswrapper? Vynechal jsem neco? Proc se modul jevi jako funkcni a zavedeny, ale ignoruje zarizeni?

Odpovim si sam, ten XP ovladac se po rebootu prihlasil. Dioda sice i nadale nesviti, ale sit jede jako z praku a nepada.
