Ta sice zlepší použitelnost systému pro nové uživatele, na které mohlo 'tiché sudo' působit dojmem, že systém 'zamrzl' a nijak nereaguje na stisky kláves, na druhou stranu se jedná o možnou bezpečnostní slabinu, neboť zobrazování hvězdiček v terminálu odhaluje délku hesla.
