    Xgl - velka zatez procesoru

    Zdarvim, vcera sem konecne doemergoval (Gentoo) Xorg7.0, Xgl a compize,
    protoze nemam nainstalovane gnome, tak jako wm pouzivam xfce4, vsechno bezi docela pekne, pri normalni nenarocen praci , treba tet pri psani mi Xka zatezujou procesor cca na 6%, coz se da prezit, ale jakmile si zacnu trosku hrat...(menit pruhlednost, otacet kostkou...) vzroste zatizeni cca na 50%, a nehorsi je to, kdyz si pustim film, (pouzivam kaffeine s xine pres opengl) , vzroste mi vytizeni na 100% a film se zacne obcas trhat...pritom zas takovou starou masinu nemam... (GK: GF4 4200Ti-128MB,CPU:AthlonXP 2200+) ...
    Nejvic mi vadi to video, ostatni se uz nejak da prekousnout...

    Ale mam dotaz: Nemelo by OpenGL zatezovat grafickou kartu a ne CPU????, tedy vzdycky sem si to myslel, ze opengl instrukce jsou vykonavany pres GPU, kdyztak me prosim nekdo vyvedte z omylu...:-)
    A nebo jestli jo, tak treba jestli nemam neco blbe nastaveny ...

    mam posledni ovladac od nvidie, podporu glx mam zapnutou

    No to tě zaráží správně, s VYPNUTOU akcelerací se nediv, že všechno obstarává procesor. CO takhle si zapnout 3D akceleraci ? ;-)

    Jenom osobní zkušenost. S direct rendering: NO jsem nedosahnul na XGL vykonu se kterym by se dalo normalne pracovat. Nepodarilo se mi nikde sehnat takovy intelacky i810 ovladac, ktery by direct rendering s XGL umel a to jsem shanel a cekal 2 mesice. Nakonec jsem si sehnal live CD s XGL tusim ver. 0.2 a spustil to na jinem PC s Geforce 6600 a hle: direct rendering: YES, fps: 3600!, zatizeni CPU pri kombinaci vsech moznych a nemoznych efektech max. do 30% a to vc. prehravani filmu, pruhlednosti a toceni kostkou dokola. Po tomto experimentu jsem nemilosrdne XGL ze sveho PC kompletne vykopal a vratil se k puvodnimu xorg 7. Mno myslim si ze takhle by to nejak melo vypadat a pro me uz nic jineho, myslim tim vykon ktery by se blizil geforce 6600 nema smysl. Procesor tesne pred kolapsem uz nepotebuju.
