Zdravím.
Potřeboval bych poradit ohledně externí zvukové karty, jde o Soundblaster X-Fi od Creative.
Funguje mi s tím ovladačem, co vydalo Creative, bohužel neumím regulovat hlasitost. Alsamixer si postěžuje na "No mixer elems found"
Zkoušel jsem mu přes parametr vecpat konkrétní zařízení, ale bez úspěchu.
Neřešil tohle náhodou někdo ?

Je možné, že tam ani žádný ovládací prvek není nadefinovaný. Ovladač od creativu je nedodělaný šmejd. Který ovladač jsi použil (prosím download link)?
Chybějící master hlasitost lze snadno doplnit pluginem softvol, viz http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Softvol Spoustu zvukovek jej používá přímo v defaultní konfiguraci alsy, hledej softvol v /usr/share/alsa/

Když už je to teda open-source, tak kouknu na zdrojáky, třeba něco vyčtu ...
Na ten softvol taky kouknu, to by mi mohlo úplně stačit.
Opravdu se používá pro USB zvukovku? Dle toho zdrojáku je pro PCI, modul xfi. Vážně máš nahraný modul ctxfi? Spíše to jede přes standardní usb-audio, má to pár hacků pro soundblasterové usb zvukovky. ale samozřejmě nejde o plnou podporu. Tam bych ovládací prvky opravdu neočekával.

Jo, ctxfi je nahraný. Nikde jsem nenašel zmínku o tom že je ten ovladač přímo určen pro tu mou externí zvukovku.
Každopádně to funguje. I když ani nevím jestli díky ctxfi, zkusím ho vyhodit, co to udělá.
Nevím co jiného použít, regulace hlasitosti by se opravdu hodila.
A je nahraný i modul usb-audio? Jak vypadá adresář /proc/asound?
Co píše aplay -l ?

Vyhodil jsem modul ctxfi a hraju dál, takže to funguje asi přes usb modul z alsy, či kdoví jak ..
Takže ten driver od creativu s tímto vůbec nesouvisí a můžeš ho odinstalovat. Jak vypadá lsusb -v?

V tom výpisu u SB není nikde vidět, že by zvukovka přes USB nabízela nějaké ovládací prvky. Proto je ovladač nešíří dál. Ten softvol by měl stačit.

Jak teď koukám, tak já používám ctxfi verze 1.0 a ona existuje novější, 1.18 .. vyzkouším ..
Zrovna dnes se v konferenci alsa-devel objevilo, že někdo dělá na ovladači pro USB X-Fi.
