Mně to spíš příšlo jako kdyby ty moduly tam ani nebyly, viz. to co píše alsaconf, ale tolik tomu nerozumím.
Jak jsem psal je to on board na Asus P5B. Na Asustek tam cpou nějaký SoundMAX audio driver, ale z hlavy netuším co tam je přesně. Večer až budu doma pastnu lspci.

Takže zřejmě vůbec nemáš nainstalované moduly alsy. Nevím, zda je na to v archu nějaké nastavení, v debianních distribucích jsou moduly alsy součástí balíku jádra.
Sorry, máš pravdu, vždycky se mi to prohodí. Ještě jsem se koukal na google, zda ten string zná. Bohužel nejsem sám :)
Tak co to hodí do dmesg po nahrání modulu
modprobe snd-hda-intel
Dej sem jen nové řádky, nebo tail /var/log/syslog
Ono je to jedno
bash-3.2# modprobe snd-hda-intel
FATAL: Module snd_hda_intel not found.
Existuje soubor toho modulu v /lib/modules?
Najde jej find /lib/modules/ -name "snd*hda*intel*ko" ?
Pokud ano a adresář odpovídá aktuálnímu jádru (uname -a ), pak bych zkusil jej naindexovat přes
depmod -a
